Frequently Asked Questions

Q I would like to redesign my bathroom - can I move my bath, basin and WC?

A In most cases, space allowing, moving the position of the bath and basin is not a problem. In some instances the WC can be relocated but further investigation as to the structure/ location of your soil stack would be required.

Q Can my bathroom and separate WC be incorporated into one room?

A This is usually feasible but could leave you with an odd shaped bathroom. An alternative would be to install a wash basin in the WC and leave the bathroom as it is currently.

Q Could my spare room be turned into an en suite?

A This depends on the position of your existing water supply and soil stack. We would recommend a visit to determine the feasibility of the project.

Q I have a very small bathroom and my present suite looks very cramped. Can I improve it's appearance with a new suite?

A Many manufacturers specialise in compact ranges of equipment which are both visually attractive and functional.

Q As I get older, I am finding it more difficult to get into my bath. Is there a solution?

A Many manufacturers make baths especially designed for people in your position. You could also consider removing the bath and installing a walk in shower although this is an expensive option.

Q I have damaged my bath. Will I need to replace it?

A There are ways, in some instances, to carry out repairs. Please contact us with more information regarding the extent/ position of the damage.

Q I want to change my bathroom taps. How do I find out whether I have high or low pressure?

A Put your thumb over your cold tap and turn it on - if you cannot stop the water flow with your thumb then you have high pressure. Follow the same procedure with your hot tap.

Q Can I fit a power shower without disturbing my existing bathroom?

A There are several makes of power shower on the market which can be fitted without disturbance to your existing tiling or décor.

Q My shower cubicle is in good order but the shower unit is not very effective. Can it's performance be improved?

A By installing a power shower you will get a vastly improved performance without the expense of a new cubicle. However a thorough inspection of the tiling and the cubicle itself will need to be carried out first to ensure that it is fully water tight as a power shower will find any weaknesses!
